After seeing
this post of Dee's on Thursday I made up my mind to get over my fear of belts and tucked in shirts (though she has made a dress in this post, it has that tucked in look.) For some reason I feel like wearing a belt to accentuate my waist is just going to make my hips look bigger. And while that may be true to some extent, I've gotten over it (or am
getting over it.) Aside from wanting to steal her belt, I really loved the whole outfit. I wanted to see if I could come up with something kinda vaguely similar....
So I took this too short dress:
And gave it the chop:
And I declare it much more wearable! Yay! It was a really simple restyle, and now I'm hunting through my wardrobe for more things that deserve the chop...
Ugggh. That top pic - I'm so over leggings! Though I am sure I'll look back on this current favourite outfit in a year and cringe! Such is life!

Clare, I bloomin' love your new outfit, the whole darn lot of it. You very much suit the skirt/belt combo (and no big hips in sight, if anything I think the new outfit is MORE flattering!), I think you should rock it alllll the time : )
YES!!! 2 questions: 1. what hips?? 2. what does yer hubbo think?
it goes against everything natural to want to put a belt around this 4x pregnant belly too (i usually switch between the too tight/too loose notches on the belt all day!!) but i actually wear a belt with pretty much everything now!

That looks great. Well done - I have just started 30, outfits for 30 days. I love your wardrobe wednesday even though I haven't been great at joining in. Instead I did my first 7 outfits post on a Weds. I love the re-style - it's something I want to do more.
