a walk we take sometimes

We're lucky to have a lovely cycleway to walk along, beginning only minutes from our house.  I walk along it often.  It used to be where the railway would run, many years ago.  One of the main roads in my town runs near to this path.  I always wonder if the people in their cars realise what a lovely walkway there is, just a few hundred metres away.  It is always quiet along the path during the middle of the day, if you get out for a walk while all the kids are still in school.  On this particular day we only saw one cyclist, one runner and one dog.  I feel very lucky to have this beautiful quiet place in the middle of our city.

Ah the serenity (that's a quote from The Castle, right?). I kinda want to roll around on that grass... But seriously now, what a beautiful place to take a stroll. And what a lot of lovely handknitted goodness I spy! Does that pile of acorns make you want to forage and store food for winter, or is that just me?

Wow how awesome! I'm constantly craving such a walkway, the ones near us are too dodgy to use (!!!!)... But we are planning a move sometime, just not sure when or exactly where...

You're pics bought back some memories. I wonder if its the same walkway I used to ride my bike to school on (from Tahuna to Nelson Intermediate) - in those days there was a goat that always used to spring out of the undergrowth and try and butt me off my bike....bahahahaha fun times!!

I vote you should send these photos to the factions of the NCC who want to turn your beautiful walkway into a much-needed(NOT!!!) road.

I biked down the cycleway near our house this morning. I love it! I passed: one pukeko, one rabbit, sheep, horses and what looked like young turkeys (not sure if they were). How cool is that in the suburbs!
