studio tour

I've been wanting to show you this room for a while.  But I was waiting until I cleaned it up.  And now I've decided that I have no idea when that will happen!  So here it is in all its glory...maybe one day I will tidy it and show you again.

 

Fabric.  In that chest of drawers?  Yup, fabric...and wool.  Also old clothes that are not going to fit me for a long time but I just can't get rid of.  Jars of buttons up the top.

  

Card making supplies, wool, sewing notions, patterns, threads...oh just a bit of everything.  There is a desk under there somewhere.  As you can guess most of my work gets done on the dining room table.

 

Yup, stacks of fabric.  Unsorted.  Hmmmm.

 

And on the floor there?  Yeah, you guessed it...fabric!  I have scraps in that basket that are the size of my hand, and smaller.  Cause I just can't throw them out...

 Oh my.

I got some new supplies while I was away.

My mum also gave me this huge pile of felting wool recently, and I am stuck for ideas.  Anyone got any great felting projects? Easy projects please, I'm just a beginner!

and it was a lovely holiday...but its always nice to come home too.

Like Rhiannon, we also had a special first trip to the beach recently.  Our wee girl didn't seem to mind one bit!!

Managed to sneak a bit of crafting in there too, that's a hand-made beach bag in the buggy.  And Nana made bub's wee shorts too!

I'm going away for a few days, but will be back in this space soon xx

a night out

 We went out to this on Saturday night.  I think half of Nelson was there, it was a huge crowd!  It was great fun and I got to see Hollie Smith who I have been wanting to see live for a while now.  These photos give you an idea of the amazing sunset, but they don't really do it justice.  Beautiful.

dinner

 

::  Chop beetroot, drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with salt and pepper, roast until tender :: Drain a tin of beans, I like cannillini beans ::  Chop some feta cheese into chunks  ::  When beetroot is tender remove from oven, stir in the beans and feta.  Add some balsamic vinegar and return this mix to the oven just to warm ::  When it has warmed through serve up, topped with fresh basil and parmesan, serve alone or with couscous  ::

bead heart

As hubby and I are celebrating our anniversary today I thought I'd show you one of my crafts with a romantic theme!  I made this one a while ago.  It hangs on our bedroom wall.

It is a canvas which has been painted with a white background.  I then sewed beads to the canvas in the shape of a heart, leaving the ends of the thread showing on the front.

This is the back of the work, where you can see I have drawn a heart shape and marked out where I wanted the beads to go.

I also made one with buttons, but it lives at another house.

bench monday

My version of a little thing you might have heard about called bench monday.
Such a sporty get-up is not my usual or favourite type of attire, however since I committed myself to this I figure I'd better be out there pounding the pavement as much as possible.  With 3 month old babe in buggy of course.  And in between feeds, which are 2 hourly during the day (but she sleeps all night so I'm not complaining).

And NO I'm not the sporty type, yes I'm still carrying my baby weight, and this is my first event. 
Yes - I may have gone a little crazy...

Pita bread pizzas.
My "what on earth am I gonna make for tea tonight???" dinner solution.

• Place pita on tray.
• Put anything you've got lying round in the fridge on the pita.
• Top with cheese if you've got some.
• Grill and call it dinner.

I always make sure I have pitas in the freezer...don't know what I'd do without them.
